Chai School
Chai School allows our students to engage in meaningful learning that helps them form their Jewish adult lives. Students in 7th-9th grade will complete four courses each year that provide them an opportunity for in-depth study on topics connecting them to our heritage and prepare them for being active Jewish adults.
While the curriculum continually evolves to meet the needs of students, courses have included:
- Comparative Judaism
- Comparative Religion
- Contemporary Antisemitism
- Exploring the Sources
- Jewish Cooking
- Judaism and the Environment
- Holocaust
- Madrichim Training
- Modern Israel
- Mussar
- Tikkun Olam
We are extremely proud of our higher-than-average post B’nai Mitzvah retention rate, which reflects our congregation’s value of lifelong Jewish learning. Each year, approximately 85% of our students continue with their studies all the way through 12th grade.
