Ivy Weitzner, LCSW/LICSW, is our new synagogue liaison from the Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA). Ms. Weitzner earned her master’s degree in clinical social work at Wurzweiler School of Social Work in New York City, specializing in mental health. She continued her education at Smith College School of Social Work receiving a certificate in Advanced Psychotherapy. Ivy has 20 years of experience working as a clinician. Before joining, JSSA, she worked in Virginia’s community mental health system, first as a clinician and then as manager of out-patient services She was in private practice for 15 years treating adolescents and adults in group, individual and couples therapy.
Ivy is available to offer free consultation and support to individual congregants on a
variety of issues that may impact your family, including stress management, life
transitions, parenting challenges, issues of loss and caring for an aging parent. She
can provide strategies, resources, and suggestions, and make appropriate referrals for
more extensive assistance. Ivy is available to meet with congregants at her office
